Armed with her pinhole camera, Chloé Houyoux Pilar captures the unconscious of the image and brings it on the surface. “Reminiscences” takes part in this progress, an imaginary trip where every landscape holds in condensation the whole of a memory.

With her sewing machine, Sylvie transform Armenian paper into a jewel, a hairdo or a needle heel, … “take care, at midnight all goes up in smoke”, but the ashes are yet the object of another story…

United by a common history, both from the art school of La Cambre, these two young artists have decided to combine their respective approach to propose an exhibition rich in reading, without entering the game of intellectualized art. Images, letters between them and lots of possibilities.

“Pictograms, just like ideograms, have the capacity to reduce any action to its simplest expression; an almost universal language, which facilitates reading and comprehension. Like a scribe, my creations are stelae telling stories through contemporary modern hieroglyphs.”

Outside Belgium, “Brussels” has become synonymous with European authority, thus propounding the clichés of an administrative, decision-making city. Fighting against this depersonalisation, Charles Paulicevich presents a photographic series that breathes life back into the city and gives us back the strength of the poetic disparities that it contains.

Her artistic approach is to go towards the other, the unknown, the resident of this or that city, and ask if she may enter his or her home to make a portrait. Here, the relationship of proximity with the other person, the stranger, is, for me, a means of observing in a different way, of examining “ordinary strangeness”.

Yann Pocreau’s photography reflects the interaction between places and bodies. For a snapshot moment, the body takes up a place marked by human stories, reinforcing the empathy that exists in both.

Mutant forms, flexible textile sculptures, games of contradiction: Elodie Antoine makes fun of our perception, creating unlikely interactions between chemistry and embroidery, between mechanics and cosmetics, etc.

And they sang for having waited such a long time for him to come because when they were waiting, seated, for him to come, they considered him. And they sang and they considered. Like them. With them. With him. And they waited there for him to come. And when he was near, they sang and they considered him.
