About the artist :
Arlette Vermeiren lives and works in Brussels. She was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tournai and artistic director of TAMAT (Museum of Tapestry and Textile Arts).
Arlette Vermeiren knows how to weave everything. She collects silk paper, orange wrappers, chocolate wrappers, etc., which she then weaves, knots and spins, without thread or glue, often into monumental installations
