Filmmaker Joana Hadjithomas and artist/poet Etel Adnan met fifteen year ago. Having become close friends, they share a city where neither of them ever set a foot: Izmir, in Turkey, formerly Smyrna. Having lived in an imaginary place, Etel and Joana are confronted to the transmission of history and question their attachment to objects, locations and to intimate projections deprived of real images.
