Profile: trilingual reception/ticketing and administration manager (FR-NL-EN) (F/M/X) 

Bruxelles-Musées-Expositions asbl manages Centrale, a center for contemporary art and the museums of Brussels City. 

Centrale develops a committed and open-minded vision of art, with links to the city and society. Each year, Centrale produces exhibitions and multidisciplinary projects with established and emerging artists from Brussels and abroad. 

Artists and audiences are in the heart of Centrale’s project. 

The non-profit organization is looking for a trilingual reception/ticketing and administration manager (FR-NL-EN) 

 

Position 

As reception/ticketing and administration manager, you will be the first contact with the visitors. You will be responsible of the ticket sales and bookshop products, and will ensure that information about exhibitions, events (guided tours, workshops, etc.), prices, etc. is properly broadcasted. You will also provide day-to-day support to the administrative team. In general, you will be involved in the smooth running of Centrale, in collaboration with the team. 

 

Tasks 

– Welcoming the public: selling tickets and bookshop products, providing information on exhibitions, events, prices, the bookshop, the history of the venue, etc. 

– First contact: answering the telephone and emails from a shared mailbox, and, if necessary, passing on to the relevant colleagues. 

– Booking management: on site, online and by telephone. Contacting guides, drawing up order forms and invoices, updating the diary of events and visits, drawing up lists of school and association groups for each exhibition. 

– Shop management: storage, stock management, reassortment (books, communication and audience materials), contact with artists as part of the  project ‘Le choix de’, contact with bookshops and/or publishers to organize deposits and administrative follow-up from the order form to the final invoice. 

– Cash desk management: day-to-day management and back office, study and analysis of cash desk reports, preparation of statistics 

– Administrative management: drawing up order forms and invoices, filing, and proofreading in accordance with procedures 

– Taking part of the team meetings: communicating attendance statistics, feedback from the public, helping to find solutions to provide the best coming. 

– You will be willing to conduct any other administrative task required for the smooth running of the department. 

 

Your profile 

– 3 years of higher education (tourism, administration, communication, etc.) or equivalent experience 

– at least 1 year in a reception role 

 

Technical skills 

– excellent oral and written communication skills in FR/NL/EN 

– experience in cash desk/ticketing management 

– very good command of Pack Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) 

– proficiency in planning and management tools 

– project management 

– understanding of public service issues and operations 

 

The person we are looking for has the following qualities:

We offer: 

– Permanent contract – level B (Bachelor’s degree in tourism, communications, administration, etc.). 

– Start date: 2nd of September 2024 

– Salary: level B Brussels City / meal vouchers: EUR 8 face value / STIB network pass 

– Hours: 7.30 a.m./day; evening work possible depending on the events calendar 

When open to the public: Wednesday to Sunday, 10.15am to 6.15pm (one weekend in three is free). 

When not open to the public: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm 

– A workplace ideally located on Place Sainte-Catherine, easily accessible by public transport
