{"id":21639,"date":"2024-10-17T08:32:29","date_gmt":"2024-10-17T08:32:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/centrale.brussels\/?post_type=activities&#038;p=21639"},"modified":"2024-10-24T14:12:17","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T14:12:17","slug":"performance-carole-louis","status":"publish","type":"activities","link":"https:\/\/centrale.brussels\/nl\/events\/performance-carole-louis\/","title":{"rendered":"Performance Carole Louis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Sans fonds<\/em>, performance van <a href=\"http:\/\/carole-louis.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carole Louis<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>16.11.2024 &#8211; 15:00<\/strong><br \/>\nTekst, microfoon, luidsprekers, munten van 1 cent, kostuum en schoenen<br \/>\nGratis bij aankoop van euw toegangsticket<\/p>\n<p>De performance <em>Sans fonds<\/em> werd oorspronkelijk gecre\u00eberd voor de opening van <em>Banqueroute<\/em>, een origineel voorstel van Maxime Moinet en Sophie Delhasse (Art au Centre Li\u00e8ge), als antwoord op de uitnodiging van Yves Randaxhe om de tentoonstelling Private Views over te nemen. Het initiatief was bewust bedoeld om de hoofdtentoonstelling te verstoren, dus Carole Louis kroop in een bijna onzichtbare rol als receptioniste van het museum. Zittend aan de kassa, tussen de andere receptionisten, maakte Carole Louis gebruik van hun aankondigingsmicrofoon. Haar stem en tekst werden via geluidsprekers over het hele museum verspreid. In deze tekst mengt en vervormt de kunstenaar denkbeeldige taalformules, gekozen om de relaties op te roepen die wij met de economie vormen, die de economie met ons vormt. We kunnen vooral deze van de kunstenaars herkennen. Van tijd tot tijd staat ze op en strooit ze munten van 1 cent door het museum, wat verschillende reacties uitlokt bij het publiek. De performance bevraagt de rol van economie, hi\u00ebrarchie en waardesystemen in de maatschappij en in de kunstwereld. Functies als receptionist worden vaak gedevalueerd, maar er wordt wel een salaris voor betaald. De titel van kunstenaar wordt veel hoger gewaardeerd, hoewel het salaris niet noodzakelijk volgt.
