A bit rough and dirty, but especially very creative and edgy. It’s therefore not surprising that more and more contemporary artists, galleries and museums are settling down in the lower city.

Downtownbrussels.art is an initiative of more than 20 cultural organizations, galleries and museums who want to highlight the lower city. The participating partners of downtownbrussels.art offers a large and diverse cultural artistic spectrum. By conducting promotion together and focus on organized vernissages, exhibitions and events, downtownbrussels.art wants to attract more public and stimulate the art scene in the lower city.

Downtownbrussels.art offers a counterweight to the large group of established galleries and museums from the upper city. Many tourists visit the royal museums, but they haven’t found yet their way to the art in the lower city. Art collectors know the established galleries in Ixelles and the Louisa district, but are not familiar with the art scene downtown. Uptown has a rich cultural artistic past, but it offers fairly a classical art scene. On the other hand, Downtownbrussels.art is spirited, fascinating, young and innovative.

For this second edition of downtownbrussels.art, planned on 5 & 6 May 2018, all the partners will open their doors from 11:00 until 18:00.

The CENTRALE, partner of downtownbrussels.art, will offer a reduced price of its entrance ticket at 4€.

Other partners of Downtown :

A Temporary Monument for Brussels, Alice gallery, Argos, artlead SALON, Dauwens & Beernaert, Dépendance, Frédéric de Goldschmidt Collection, Galerie Greta Meert, Halles Saint-Géry, Hypercorps, IMAL, Kanal-Centre Pompidou, Kusseneers Gallery, MAAC, MAD, NICC, Office Baroque, Société, Waldburger Wouters

["post-6269","activities","type-activities","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry

Downtownbrussels.art - CENTRALE for contemporary art - Brussels

<meta property="og:description" content="05 & 06-2018 – 11:00 > 18:00 Downtownbrussels.art Downtownbrussels.art is a fascinating location and starts from the northwest of the central axis up to the Canal Zone.
