6 November 2024 – Discovering knitting
Introduction to knitting with hands and needles. Creation of a knitted fabric or textured surface using recycled yarns.
20 November 2024 – Creative embroidery
Learn basic embroidery stitches (cross stitch, stem stitch, knot stitch, etc.). Creation of embroidered motifs on textile surfaces or embroidery frames to create a pictorial work.
4 December 2024 – Natural dyeing (or introduction to crochet – to be confirmed)
Explore natural dyeing techniques using plants, fruit and vegetables. Creation of eco-print, tie-dye or shibori, introducing ancestral techniques.
18 December 2024 – Easy sewing
Learn the basics of hand sewing. Drawing with thread on textiles using sewing.
15 January 2025 – Textile dolls/idols
Making and decorating fabric dolls/idols (choice of fabrics, accessories etc.) and learning the basics of textile assembly.
29 January 2025 – Introduction to crochet
Learn the basics of crochet. Creation of an abstract textile crochet sculpture.
Lucie Lenardon (BE) is a visual artist and textile designer. After studying fashion design, she specialized in contemporary textile design. She is a graduate of Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles and ENSAV La Cambre. Her work focuses on the beauty that emerges from certain materials and textures deemed unsightly. Her creations, which take the form of garments, paintings and textile sculptures, incorporate scratching, deformation and crumbling. Using techniques specific to the textile medium (knitting, crochet, embroidery, etc.), her creations are as visual as they are tactile.
